The World Cup Bus Project

Myself and a group of other travellers plan on travelling from Vancouver to Brazil, in time for the soccer World Cup. We are looking to purchase a bus and drive all the way, We will be leaving mid April, arriving mid June. If you would like to be a part of the trip, or if you live anywhere along the way and could help us out that would be great. you can contact us at https://www.facebook.com/WorldCupBus for more info.

That sounds like a fantastic adventure. What will you do about the Darien Gap though? I assume you'll have to put the bus on a boat.

Awesome adventure!
Liked it on Facebook so will follow you.
Unfortunately no time to join you during that time of year.

Agree with bex though, check the crossing by boat. There is no regular ferry or something so you need to have special transport agreements over there. But I think it is possible though.

have fun!

just read this post with new information!

It will be brutally expensive and complicated logistically to get the bus (and all the passengers and luggage) from Panama to Colombia... how have you arranged to manage this?

Cheers,
Terry

Healwood, the Original Post states, "We will be leaving mid April, arriving mid June."

Regretably, I agree, unless the ferry is open by then and it won't be.. you might want to consider driving to Savannah, GA, or Fort Laurderdale FL, and shipping to Cartagena CO.. and flying there. The RO/RO service only takes about two week journey. Plus you could get cheap Spirit Flights if money's a pinch.

sounds like lots of fun. gluck.
