If you are traveling solo, you will undoubtedly meet fellow travelers along the way. Hostels and guesthouses are great for meeting new people. You will be able to meet someone and travel together with them for a few days, then meet up with someone else travel with them, etc. If you don't plan too far in advance, you can keep you r plans flexible to accommodate traveling with people.
I've found that when traveling solo, you're normally only as alone as you want to be - meaning there are plenty of other solo travelers out there who are in the same situation as you.
