Hey so I've booked Thailand for October! So excited I could burst! I was just wondering if anyone who has travelled there before has any useful info on jobs out there as I will be looking to do some work?!

Unless you have a particular skill that is in demand you can not work in Thailand. The Thai government protects the jobs of their citizens and makes it difficult for foreigners to get a legal job. Working legally requires a Work Permit. They are not easy to get. Even the phony "teaching" jobs are having problems too. Often you get the job first then go to Thailand.
Are there some foreigners (Farangs) working under the table - yes. Do they get detained and deported when found out - yes that can happen too! Are there foreign women working as escorts, dating Asian men for money - yes that happens too.
How long do you plan to be in Thailand? To enter with a free 30 day Visa Exemption stamp you get at the airport (with UK passport) you should have a round trip plane ticket. Otherwise purchase a Tourist Visa. (Compare cost of round trip plane ticket vs buying 2 one way flights. For some airlines buying round trip saves you a lot of money.)
Figure on saving the most money you can working at home and stay for only as long as you can without working and within your visa limits. You can't just show up and stay as long as you want without a proper visa.
Will you get caught "working under the table" who knows?
October will be a little cheaper for hotels than the December/January Christmas-New Years holiday season.
Research visas required for the time you intend to stay in Thailand. Look over the above link for Work Permits, etc. Ordinary Thai wages are low. In a legal job that ordinary Thais work your pay will be less than working at a Burger King - McDonalds type job in the UK. Plus the hours and working conditions may be worse. You do see Thai women working construction same as guys - working 10-12 hours a day for peanuts. You also see a lot of women working long hours in bars too.
Working for a foreign company often pays the most money. If you can get hired back home they even pay for your transportation. But you must have an in demand skill.
Sorry to rain on your parade. When you do a Google search you come across stories for foreigners who are down on their luck trying to make ends meet in Thailand.
