Packing for Australia Working Holiday.

Hi All, I'm going to Australia next month to start my working Holiday I've got most of my stuff sorted already but I not sure if I should be taking some of it. I've got some smart black dress shoes, Black trousers and a Shirt for interviews as I'll need jobs to keep me going, with these in my pack only comes to 12kg which is pretty average i think, but these items are only going to be used a handful of times whilst I'm there and spend the rest of the time in the bottom of my pack. So what do you think should i take them? I'm kinda worried that if I don't I'll have nothing to wear for an interview and I'll have to buy things when I'm over there and cut into my already tight budget.

If you want to give a good impression at any interviews, then taking those clothes would pay off. However, you are backpacking and any employer who new this would probably understand if you didn't have those types of clothes. As long as you look presentable you should be OK.

Having done exactly the same - I'd recommend bringing them along to begin with. You can always ditch them in the clothes recycling bins that are everywhere. I didn't get to check out your profile, so not sure where you're from. I'm American and find that op shops (where you could potentially pick up second-hand interview clothes are up to ten times more expensive in Australia. I'm generally a HUGE advocate of packing super light, but in your case I'd recommend bringing the "smart" stuff... just for now.

Hope that helps!
