Hi all,
I'm planning on travelling in Eastern Europe for a month next year and was wanting some advice on certain topics.
1- I'm thinking of going in January. The cold won't bother me but is there anything special i should take not of due to the time of year.
2- I was thinking of getting an interailing pass but i've seen some people saying this isn't the best idea could anyone tell me like the pros and cons of interailing in eastern Europe and the alternatives
3- i know its already cheap but is there any more ways to save money?
Thank-you so much your replies will be greatly appreciated and if there's anywhere you would recommend going please tell me. I'll only be 17 when i go and it will be my first adventure into the world of travel so i'm really keen to get advice from other people.

When I've trained it in eastern Europe it's worked out cheaper to pay-as-you-go. Also check if all the countries you plan to visit are included on your pass.
Yeah it's cheap. Wonderfully cheap. I'm not sure you need extra tips on that; if you're hostelling and self catering you can live on a quarter (or less) of at home.

Now I live in Czech Republic, but I also lived in Poland, so regarding these countries I would definitely advise you to travel by buses or just buy the tickets for train before your trips.
Check studentagency, flixbus and polskibus. The last one - polskibus, is my favorite from Poland, and it's the cheapest company I've traveled with in my life. I have an article on my blog about how you can travel super cheap in Poland - -snip-

Hi.
The cheapest way to travel is polski bus. It is easy to buy tickets online. It is operating also from Poland to Budapest, Prague and Bratislava.
International trains will be probably expensive.
If you want to travel only in Poland the IC trains (called "PKP Intercity") are the most expensive, it is cheaper to use local trains.
In PKP Intercity tickets are usually cheaper when you buy in advance, but also sometimes there may be a last minute discount.
I think you should check prices online and compare if it is better for you to buy a few tickets separatelly or not.
In Poland single train tickets between main cities may cost about 70-160 PLN (15-40 EUR). It depends on the day and cities, I just wrote it for you to have an idea how much it is.
