Hey dear fellow travellers,

I will be travel approximately 3 months in south Asia. Follow your interest at first.Looks the nature fit your body, prepare your work, know about your places recommendation. Discuss with the trip adviser. Our site is always ready to help for you.

Hi there,
Actually I just back from Lombok, and if you like hiking when you go to Lombok you must go to Rinjani Mountain and I read in your post, you like cycling so its perfect for you to go to Gili Terawangan because in that island there no cars, motorcycles, only Bicycle and Horse cart allowed. And for non crowded Beach in Lombok you can go to Tanjung AAn Beach, Kuta Beach Lombok (I know in Bali there is Kuta beach too but its so different only the name just similar, Pink Beach)
And if you go to Bali, for hiking you must go to Batur Mountain and many beautiful places in Bali too such as Ubud Monkey Forest, Tegalalang Rice Terrace (Located in Ubud too), For the beach such as Padang-padang beach, Dreamland, Pandawa Beach, Blue Point, Nyangnyang Beach (all those beach is located in Uluwatu so they are in the same route) and if you stay in Kuta Area so the beach that near you are Kuta Beach, Seminyak Beach, and Legian beach.

I hope my Info can help you and if you need more information, don't mind to ask me. Hope you enjoy ur holiday :D

Thank you both for your feedback!

Elve08 , thank you especially for the info on Lombok and Bali. I'll definitely check those hikes and beaches. Did you enjoy staying in Kuta Area? From what i have heard and read it doesn't seem to be my cup of tea, in the sense it seems to be the most crowded place in Bali with lots of party-people. Would you recommend me to go there nonetheless for the beauty of the beaches?

Hi Tatiana,
I confirm that the stay in Yogjakarta really worth, with the town itself, Prabanam, Borobudur and also Gedong Songo in same area. Some of the best archeological sites of South East Asian with Angkor in Cambodia..

Borobudur was one of the highlights of Indonesia for me so I wouldn't miss it. Prambanan is also worth a visit although it's not quite as spectacular.

Thank you Alain13 and bex76!

Angkor Wat was an incredible experience for me, so following your advice i'll probably check the temples in Yogyakarta too. How long would you recommend me to stay there? I thought 3 days: one to visit the city, and one day at each temple complex. Is that enough?

At least 3 full days. But you won't have any problem to keep busy a forth day.

I think 3 days would be perfect.

I went to SE Asia about 3 years ago and absolutely loved it! Spent about 5-6 months, 3 weeks of which I spent in Malaysian Borneo. I have similar interests to yourself, whilst traveling, and can definitely recommend Borneo! It's a paradise for nature lovers.

Kuching was a nice city but the best thing about it was using it as a base to visit Bako National Park and Semonggoh (sp?) Oragutan Reserve. Bako has some nice hikes to waterfalls and you're nearly always guaranteed to see wild Probicus Monkeys. Semonggoh is much better than the Sepilok one in Sabah as you see many more semi-wild Orangutans. I saw 13 of them in one day!

Kota Kinabalu is a really nice. The area is dotted with national parks, including the beautiful mountain.

Sipidan Islands are supposed to be incredible. I didn't managed to make it here as there was a miniature war going on between Malaysian and Philippino militias (which is settled down for now). Has some of the best dive spots in the World apparently.

Gunung Mulu National Park. My favourite place in the World at the moment. At dusk, every day, 3 million bats fly high above you in a spiralling motion from the 2nd largest cave in the World. Words cannot describe how incredible this is. The park also has some great day and night trails in which you see loads of fauna and flora. A real must-see place for nature lovers.

Also good choice on going to Taman Negara, on the mainland. Some intense and exciting hikes there!
Hope this helps!
Ollie
