As John said, Bombay(Mumbai) is the best place for buying a suit !! U can the pre-stichted one or get one stichted !! If u happen to be in mumbai, i will let u know the best locations for getting it done
Thanks for the replies.
thanks for the advice Smoothiee, will probably fly to Mangalore, then take a train to Goa after 2 days. Then either fly to Mumbai or take the overnight train.
Arif, Do you have details of the suit makers? Are they able to copy a suit from a magazine?? what price are they usually?
Thanks
Heff
Quite a lot of suit makers are available in South Mumbai, one of the them is near the Leopold cafe.
Fabric and suit making is also available at Raymond outlets, throughout India. Have a look at the outlets in Mumbai on http://www.raymondindia.com/states.asp?st=MAH . U can get quality fabric and they have their in-house tailors who can make all types of suits. Stiching is the range of 2000-3000 rupees and fabric depends on ur choice.
With just one week, Delhi and the sights with day trips to Agra and Jaipur. You do not have time for extensive travelling.
Getting suits and shirts tailor made is an excellent idea. I always do that when i visit india. As mentioned above raymond is an excellent option. Raymond outlets are everywhere in India and you may not have to go to Bombay for the same. Also each city and town has their own local tailors and they are pretty good.
Delhi - Agra - Jaipur will be the best route for such a short period. You can't miss the Taj Mahal in Agra and Jaipur is full of beautiful palaces.
