I like the Hostel Londres in Santiago when I first went there...>Centrally located. Nice place.
Spending more than two days in Santiago, in my view, is wasted time. I found it a very dull city. I lived there for a year. Immediately after getting your fill of that town, head to the coast. Go to Los Molles or something. Beautiful park there. Valparaiso is good for one days worth of looking around.
