Hi All, We're from Australia and moving to Canada for a working holiday. We got tickets to Toronto but now have jobs in Edmonton!! We were going to buy an RV and drive, we have a maximum of 2 weeks. We arrive mid August. We have 3 kids, so frequent stops will be important. Has anyone done this trip and what route would be the cheapest/easiest/quickest? Thanks
Heres the quickest route if 3000+kms can be called quick, any chance you can change your tickets for an Edmonton arrival?
Or a more scenic route would be to land in Vancouver and drive to Edmonton.

Hi Giorgia... I am a fellow Aussie living and working in Toronto for 12 months. Sounds like a great opportunity you have! Driving from Toronto - Edmonton is a fairly big trip... think about Melbourne to Perth and it's a little less than that! So, it is definately an option. Just up to you whether you want to spend the time in the car. On the positives, you could have a fun road trip... assuming the kids are on board with the idea!! LOL...
Best of luck
Thanks so much guys. Sadly the fare that we got can't be changed but I think it's a great way of seeing parts of both countries. Thanks for the Perth to Melbourne conparison. It definately puts it into perspective!!
Sounds like a great trip.
I've driven around and across Canada a few times. It's so incredibly easy.
Toronto - Edmonton is just a breeze. If I was to suggest a route for myself, then I'd do Toronto, Thunder Bay, Winnipeg, Saskatoon and Edmonton. I reckon it should take around three to four days with regular breaks and sharing the driving, although it can be done a lot quicker if you want to just put your foot down and get there.
