Hi there,
Having that you don't want to go off from the coast, I am giving you a couple of ideas of things to do near Benicassim:
VISIT TO PEÑÍSCOLA
This is a small village in the coast, about 30-40 km north of Benicassim. You can reach it by train or bus. It has a very beautiful old village, with white houses, narrow streets, typical shops and a castle on the top.

HIKING IN DESIERTO DE LAS PALMAS
Once in the Benicassim Festival you will see some mountains in the background. They are a nature reserve called Desierto de las Palmas. There are some paths to walk around and discover the local flora and some places of interest, such as the ruins of an Arabic castle of the Middle Ages and the ruins of an ancient monastery. And of course, you can climb to the top of the mountains (being the highest the one called Bartolo, 729 m) to have a nice view of the coast: Benicassim, Castellón, the sea...
If you want more info about Desierto de las Palmas, you should go to the information point of the natural reserve and they will give you leaflets with the itineraries of the paths. Maybe you can ask at the Tourist Information Office in Benicassim how to reach the information point of Desierto de las Palmas. And of course, you can ask me here.
Hi,
I hope it's not too late. Peñíscola. Tarragona, Tortosa and Morella are the most beautiful towns in that stretch of coast. Another nice spot would the the prehistoric paintings of Tirig and Les Coves de Vinroma.
Ah! It's Benicassim not Benicassium Enjoy the FIB!
Sebas
