Stonehenge and Bath is each a day on its own if you're traveling from London, but maybe there's a tour that takes them both inside a day. Windsor Castle is near to London, and I would suggest you take the best part of a day to see the area - Eton College is across the river from Windsor town centre. Used to go to Windsor a lot when I lived in London. It was an easy drive out. I would suggest an fairly early start for that one, as it would give you time to get back to London for evening stuff.
For London in a day? That's a massive question really. There are lots of London tourism sites to check. One thing you could do that would cover a lot of ground (water) is an all-day 'rover' ticket for the . Goes all the way down towards - pass St Pauls, Tower Bridge, etc - or up towards , both worth seeing. The ticket seems to cover the as well.

For all those things your friend might want to do, that's not really why people go to Stonehenge, Windsor or Roman baths. As fabyomama says, these are all day trips in themselves.
I live in London so here is what I would do on my day off from work on a Wednesday!:
Comedy
The Comedy Store is a good place for a fun night. I often go for birthday parties cause your guaranteed a good time. It's in Piccadilly Circus (sightseeing spot in London too) and on Wednesday nights there is a popular show called 'Comedy Store Players' with 6 comedians. They have a bar with snacks and drinks too.
Sightseeing
A boat trip down the River Thames. If you get off at a tube station called 'Embankment', you can pick up a boat there. I have done it before and the tour guide is quite funny, telling you all about the buildings along the Thames river.
Around Waterloo, next to the Thames river, is an area called the Southbank which is always bustling with things going on. Cafes, bars and restaurants, nice walk along the riverside, the National Film Theatre which runs films throughout the day new, old and themed. The National Theatre is along here too (check out their website for plays).
sleep
Did you need somewhere to stay? I guess if you want to make the most of a day and night you should sleep over. For somewhere a bit different, try - its a courthouse converted into a hostel with private and shared rooms. Or the is near Watleroo station and Southbank.
Eating
I love Busaba (106-110 Wardour Street) close to Soho and Oxfore Circus. Really great thai food and nice inside. Everybody sits at large wooden tables and benches.
Canela. Is a cafe/bar on Newburgh Street, a road parallel to Carnaby street. It looks really cool from the outside and they serve cocktails, great coffee, wine, lovely little Portuguese cakes and tapas style nibbles. It is small and intimate inside.
Sports/fun
Bloomsbury Bowling is an old fashioned American-style bowling alley. It is underground and they have an American diner, table football and even a cinema screen where you can chill out and watch a film in the cinema seats. Always a good atmosphere in the evening.

I used to live in London too. I have never tried such a tour because I prefered to see everything on my own. I bought once a "London Pass". you gonna pay a special amount and can go sightseeing in about 40 sights (if I remember correctly) This was a really great thing: no queuing, entrance without paying all the time, seeing so many sights in just one day...I booked it somewhere in the internet -snip- Anyway, next to the London Pass i also bought a daily travel ticket and went everywhere by tube and foot. In the evening you can easily relax in one of the pubs at Leicester Square. If you are lucky there might be a film premiere which is always an amazing show.
