Hi
Hi Rachel! I'm hoping to go out in august too, I'm aiming for the 2nd though, but have nothing booked yet cos I was still trying to get the money together. I'm a little worried about whether my visa will be sorted in time, I've emailed them and asked what they think. How organised are you already? Do you have your visa already?
Laura
I'm a little worried about whether my visa will be sorted in time
If you applied for the visa through the , it's probably sorted already; the vast majority of visas are approved within hours; I haven't heard of one taking more than a week in the last couple of years.
Hi Laura
i was originally planning on going on the 2nd but couldnt find anyone going then, I think everything is pretty much sorted - well its all paid for!! Ozintro said they will apply for my visa in a couple of weeks and should only take 48 hours, my flight was the most expensive thing to pay for because of the time of year im going.
Ozintro were really helpful with me - i was asking loads of questions before i actually booked
Rachel
Exciting! I emailed ozintro and they said the visa doesn't usually ever take more than 2 weeks, so I'm still good to go as long as I can get the money together. Ah rachel you would've been at the same time as me! Although I may still end up going later, and either way I'll probably see you out there cos I'm planning on staying in Sydney working for the first few months to save enough money to travel. How much were your flights if you don't mind me asking? I was planning on calling round a few different companies to see how cheap I can get it, and also to see how much the difference between August and September would be, as September is supposed to be cheaper being out of holiday season. I'm tempted to go with the ozintro recommended flights, as they know how to get you there at the right time and everything cos they're used to working together, but i think I'll look at prices first. Who did you go with? Excited!
laura
Hi Laura
I booked my flights direct as there was only a few £ difference and there was hardly anything in it when choosing between August and September.
ozintro recommended flights came back with £999 for emarates and Quants but they didnt give me the times or where the flights stopped
Im flying with Quatas and got an open return for £1012 with a stop over in Singapore for a couple of hours (really didnt fancy going to bangkok with all the trouble)
i think i got a pretty good deal but you can get cheaper if you want to fly with a less well know airline.
Rach
hi
im travelling to australia on a whv alone. applied for my visa separate but reading up wish i had booked with ozinrto now.
im looking to fly around those sort of dates but havent booked the flight yet.
getting a bit nervous about doing it alone and that i have barely organised anything lol.
just wondering what are your plans out there? travelling around etc? and where are you starting off?
wade
Hi wade
U can still book ozintro even though u have ur visa already, u just need to deduct that from the price. I only brought my backpack today but still have nothing to put in it!! I don't yet have any plans for the week after oz intro just gona see how everything goes. Got my flights with quantas as it didn't work out any cheaper going in aug or sept, let me know how u get on with ur plans.
Rachel
thank you rachel,
i have now emailed them for the 16th just waiting for a reply. now to find a flight... was thinking of getting a one way flight, just need to find one at a good price now?
once i get this ill buy backpack and sort insurance out.
im also making no plans. just going to go with the flow after the initial week. do you know of anyone else going on this ozinto week?
wade
Hi Wade,
Be careful booking a one way flight as I might be wrong but I think youve got to provide evidence that you plan to return home or can support yourself with shed loads of cash...migt be worth double checking before you book
