Hello all, im Julie- Ive just turned 24 and Im from Belfast I finish my grad course trip on 10th sept and am at a loss as to what to do. Always had the bug for travel but never really saw it through.I was looking to go travelling with a friend who has since got serious with her man (tut tut). I am alone in my quest for exploring given everyone else I know seems to want a mortgage, baby or a rock on their finger *sighs*. Would love to to Oz in Oct/Nov time, pref meet up with someone initially to make the initial shift less scary. Never been on one of these sites before so forgive me for my lack of forum experience! I enjoy meeting new people, the usual mallarky. Im not a a hermit, on the contrary-very social, my friends circumstances are just not on my side at the mo!

Im 23 and from Chester.
Im going travelling next week and landing in Oz on 5th Dec, very similar situation all my friends are settling down, kids, married and im single so ive given up my job and decided to go travelling for a year. Im doing China, SE Asia, India then working out in Oz for 6 months before heading onto NZ and America.
Im going it alone and have now got everything booked and am ready to go, id never been on this forum before last week but have started getting to know people who are doing the same thing as me and maybe arranging to meet up at some point along my travels.
Make the step - Im still really nervous about doing it alone but I know im gunna meet loads of people and its a once in a lifetime

Hi,
I fly out to Brisbane on 25th October and wil be staying in Oz for 12 months.
During Xmas and New Year I'll be travelling along the East Coast, as my cousin (who i'm living with in Oz) is flying back to the U.K for the holidays. I don't want to be stuck by myself over Christmas so think it'll be a good opportunity to go backpacking!
My plans are pretty open and I'll see what happens when I'm over there. I'm hoping to get some cash together with bar work etc while I get my bearings. I'd love to see the Whitsunday's, Fraser island, Great barrier reaf etc.
FYI, I'm 24 and from Bebington, Wirral. Not far from Chester!

I havent really thought about doing East Coast - only gold coast - Sydney, Melbourne, ive got my working holiday visa so planning to do a bit of work out there just to fund the rest of my trip. But quite like the idea of casual bar work - meet more people. I was worried about being on my own at Xmas too - just hoping to have some company on Xmas day!!
I went through STA travel - there in Manchester but I called up and did it over the telephone, they were really helpful and sorted my Oz visa out too. Im going Heathrow, Shanghai, Bejing, Singapore, Sydney, Christchurch, Aukland, San Fransico, LA Heathrow my flights were only £1599 but ive booked a few tours which bumped the price up.
