That is the busy season in Asia. Book at least one night in Bangkok to give yourself time to sort yourself out.
If leaving Thailand by air, book a flight soon as flights fill up.
Get Laos and Vietnam visas soon. Can be sorted out online. Cambodia you just pay $20 at the border. Make sure you have lots of US$ for these 3 destinations. Money can be changed up in Bangkok or at the airport.
Plenty of other tourists on these well trodden routes if you want to team up with someone while there.
Hi
Im travelling with a friend to Thailand on 23/1 shes only staying for a month but im moving on around asia and then to OZ. if you wanted to meet up?
Hi!
We are also currently in China but on holiday! Our last holiday was to Singapore, Malaysia, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand in that order. I'd suggest booking in advance any hotels during the Chinese New Year and know that trains will be booked out for days if not weeks and prices skyrocket. For the rest of the time booking in advance isn't needed at all. We rarely booked more than a day if that in advance. Toilet paper is needed as it is in China. Toilets are generally worse and not as abundant in public areas. Our favourite places included Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang, Laos; almost all of Vietnam; Sihanoukville (private island stay) and Siem Reap, Cambodia; Khao Sok, Similan Islands, Ang Thong (Koh Samui), Erawan falls (Kanchanaburi), Thailand. Be very cautious about your bag on buses if storing. We've heard many horror stories but common sense is all you need. All the countries are awesome fun and beautiful, you'll have such an amazing time! If you need any other specific advice I'm happy to help!
Hey guys thank you so much for the tips! Thats great! And @natalie it would be awsome to meet up!! x
