Things To Do in Stockholm

I'm going to Stockholm in November for two or three nights and was after tips for places to see and things to do.

its an eat and drink kinda place, take a wedge, its gona cost a bomb if you go out drinking

Hi there,

Well as you come in November I would not go down to Gothenburg (Göteborg). It's quite a rainy and windy time of the year and Göteborg weather is worse then Stockholm during this time.

How much you pay for a pint here varies but about 50-60 Swedish Crowns is average. And to get in to clubs also varies. Depends on where you want to go. If there is a fee it's between 60-150 on the ordinary places and 200-250 on the posher ones.

What kind of places to see and things to do are you interested in seeing and doing? Culture, history, party? Have you been to Sweden before and are you going somewhere else when here this time?

When I went to Stockholm I enjoyed Skansen the most. Its an island (one of the many around Stockholm) and on it there is a huge ZOO/park/musem.. Don't know exactly how to exlplain it, but I think it was pretty fun. Also the boat rides are quite nice and of coruse the old town is very beautiful.
If you want to go party - I went to this club called Berns and I loved it! Good music, interesting people but expensive drinks! So take some alcohol with you, because also in the Swedish stores you will pay a lot more for a bottle than at home (I assume).

Hope that helps

Hi Emmett,
I would have to agree about Skansen. Although it will be cold in November it's still worth wrapping up and having a wander around the whole place. It has a zoo of Nordic animals, a park that re-creates the different lifestyles of Sweeden in the past (shops, candle-makers, printers etc), places to eat etc.
I wrote a piece about Stockholm some time back so you might enjoy taking a look at that; here's the link
If you want to eat at resonable prices the back streets of Gamla Stan usually have special priced menus which tend to be good value. Also Chinese and Eastern restaurants are also well priced.
The beer is expensive but if you look around you'll find somewhere that's a little less expensive.
Best of luck and enjoy.
