Hiya,
Hey Daniella,
I will be in Sydney from Boxing Day (26th) - 2nd Jan, when we (Me, My Girlfriend and 2 friends) will be heading up the east coast to do some exploration.
What did you have in mind whilst in Sydney, I've heard very mixed reviews, kind of a love hate place. Good for work, but apparently reminds people of London a little too much.
Maybe we will bump into each other at some point,
Good luck!

Hey,
Myself & a friend leave UK on 27th Nov, be in Sydney till 2nd Jan then moving up the east coast! Also doing the Oz intro, ive heard mixed reviews on them but i feel much more at ease for the fact they do so much!
Whats your plans? Were do u plan on staying in Sydney? Everyone i know has said to keep well clear of Kings Cross! Were staying at Strattons over Xmas & NY, That was the cheapest although its still worked out VERY EXPENSIVE!!!
Good luck, Hope all works out

Why stay clear of Kings Cross?
My mate said someone told him it was 'the place to go'?
Am I gonna die? :/
Apparently its really rough, Alot of drugs, prostitution & bad people there
Not just one person whose told me that either, quite a lot infact Eeeeek.
Hope ive helped

I live close to Sydney and I can tell you guys a little bit about Kings Cross. The reason people say that is because is use to have an under world drug scene in the 80s and 90s with police corruption. The drugs will always be everywhere, but now its more of an awesome place to party and its patrolled by cops constantly so its really safer than other places if you look at it like that. If you go clubbing in a group you will have a blast as long as you don't turn up pissed because no pubs/clubs will let you in as they are very stricked on this. Its not a place to live or go to during the day, but at night it comes alive and you will never have an experience in Australia like it when it comes to partying!
We have an Ausie drama called 'Underbelly' and the last season was set in Kings Cross, so if you're interested pick up a copy on ebay. I'll be the first to admit that australia makes tv shows almost as terrible as the Britts, however everyone loves this show!
Hope this helps! xo
hi
im flying out to sydney on 13th dec, my brother out there at the min so going to spend xmas and new year with him, but then hopefully do some travelling without him.
bit scared about doing it alone im hoping to meet a few people to do a road trip with.
iv also been told to stay clear of kings cross....think im stayin in the wake up hostel for my 1st couple of weeks
hopefuly see some of u out there
hey daniella
im in the same boat as you.
im going on my own over to aus in dec, starting in sydney, definetly doing bondi beach for xmas day and then new years at the harbour bridge then over to the party at bondi beach.
im not that nervous, im pretty exited actually. alot of people say to me are you not nervous aout going out there alone but the way i see it that im gonna meet loads of people out there that will be in the same situation anyway and your not really gonna be on your own too much, your always gonna be around pple at hostels or when your travelling and we're gonna make soo many new friends.
what are your plans for after new years, are you gonna be staying in sydney or are you planning on moving on someplace else?
