as far as I know there is only one airport in quito. it is about 15-20 minutes by taxi to the area where most people stay.
advice: try to arrange taxi from a reliable source beforehand - let's say with the help of your hotel to pick you up at the airport.
at night, you will have to take extra precaution: don't walk, take taxi door to door.
