i also think that you have a special place on the application form that may ask you something like that. now, you may lie there. i wouldnt play with fire..
problem is, if they can access the data by the border, you might take the next flight back from where you came. is it worth the money and the time?
i guess americans are quite paranoic at this time regarding the terrorist threat, so i won't be surprise to have a fast giant database on hand to check everything.
i remember few years ago going to millwaukee from toronto thru detroit, i had to pass 3 scanning gates, J.C.!!!!
moreover, all the planes that fly over the states has to provide info about the passangers even if the plane doesnt land in the united states.
