I just signed up to Travellers Point. Very excited to be on here. My name is Andrew and I live in Toronto, Canada. I'm planning a trip to South America for January 2012 and my plan is to start in Venezuela and see Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and Brazil. I will be travelling alone, but meeting up with friends in Colombia, Argentina and Brazil.

6-9 months would be a comfortable time frame. Prices largely vary in SA, to be on the safe side best is to calculate with US$1000 per month. Although, if you want to keep your budget low, you can survive from less, let's say US$600.
