Virus on DVD with photos

I had my photos burned on a DVD, and when I tried viewing the photos in an internet shop in Laos, it was not opening,
The clerk said it has a virus....

I'll make the (rather big) assumption that the clerk was right and that "it" referred to the DVD (and not to the computer on which you tried to open the DVD): Every new Windows computer you put the DVD in - If that Windows computer isn't up to date with security fixes and is thus exploitable by that virus - will be infected by the virus when you run the DVD. You are spreading the virus.
If on one of those infected computers a new DVD is burned, that DVD will also have the virus.

A DVD which has already been burned (and "finalized"; i.e. you can't add more files to it) will not be able to be infected. So if the clerk was referring to the computer on which you tried to open the DVD with "it" (and that wasn't the same computer on which the DVD was burned), then there's no problem, other than the DVD probably being low quality and corrupt (same as if there was a scratch on the surface).

If you know for certain that the clerk referred to the DVD: Find someone with a Mac or Linux computer. Copy the image files (only the image files) from your current DVD to their harddisk. Burn a new DVD with the image files. Throw away the first DVD.

It could also help if you encounter a windows computer with an up-to-date virus scanner, which will actually detect the virus and give you a name for it (which'll be something of the form: "Win32/VirFooBar.J"), which means you can read up on exactly what it is that it does.

Sander,
When you have a few minutes, take a look at my PM to you. Thanks, Mike

Thanks, I'll just keep the DVD, till I get home. At least, I still get to view my other dvds on my computer, even if I used the one with the virus. I just had to be so sure.
