hi guys just after a bit of advise im heading over to thailand shortly and cant decide weather to go north and across to laos or only up to bangkok and across to cambodia any suggestions im open to any other suggestions ??

It will help members if you tell us how long you plan on staying in SEA. Also tells us your budget, your interests. Beach? culture? partying? combo of everything? Then members can suggest routes, what to see/do.
If you have to choose between the two, it depends on what you're interested in. Laos is a relaxed country that has a few beautiful historical towns, and Vang Viang which is scenic little town along the river in the jungly hills that has become a bit of a travelers hangout, almost like an inland beach resort. Go there to relax and see a quiet side of Asia. The highlight of Cambodia on the other hand is Angkor - massive ancient ruins of equal impressiveness to the Pyramids or Macchu Picchu. There's also Phnom Pehn which is full of history, and some beach areas. So really it depends on what you want and I don't think we can answer that. Do some research and see what interests you.
