Anyone interested in visiting the USA I would open my home to visiters and am very interested in exchange of accomadations. If you live in another country and also have a place to stay maybe we can visit each others locations and show each other around. I'm very interested in seeing many countries especially Europe. I'm going to Frankfurt Germany in February.

Cool~! so nice idea! i travelled to Asia with my friends last entire year and now we back to our country for a rest and earn money for the next trip. my life motto is : enjoy travel enjoy life BTW my next tour plan is Europe like Greece,Germany etc. so if possible could you pls kindly let me know any of your trip in Germany or some tips? I just returned from my trip to Germany and already planning my next trip! I stayed in Heidelberg it's about an hour drive from Frankfurt. Heidelberg is so cool,it sets in a valley with steep hills on both sides of the old town and a river running through the center with a large castle overlooking the town.
Heidelberg is also about an hour and thirty minutes from schlossberg France which is also a great place to visit. This was my first trip to Europe and there were many places close by that I wanted to see such as the Czech Republic. I enjoyed Heidelberg so much that I stayed there most of my trip!
I learned a little Deutsch (German) before I went just so I could be polite but most people do speak some English. English Seems to be sort of the universal language in Europe but the German people are very proud of there Deutsch so you should know some basic greetings such as Hallo (Hello) very enthusiastically pronounced allo!
People there as you walk through the streets even in big crowds are very proper and dress very nice, I noticed that everyone as there walking does not seem to make eye contact with others
and you won't find any people watchers like in the US. If you make eye contact as your walking down the street they will quickly look ahead and usually won't even smile at you!
Here in the US we tend to look maybe even stare a little at people and If eye contact is made give a smile and a nod! Even in a area with lots of people you won't see a guy checking out a girl or a girl checking out a guy. I'm single and this seemed odd to me but figured out that we Americans maybe have gotten to comfortable being rude! Don't misunderstand this and think it means that people are not friendly they just don't want to be rude and are minding there own business! I found that If you walked up and greeted anyone they were very friendly !
I felt very safe everywhere I went even out walking late at night!
I traveled there alone and was very comfortable everywhere I went. I enjoy meeting new people and friends and at first thought it might be hard to meet people but found that I just had to make the initiative and once the door was open they were very interested in talking.
I found a really cool restaurant and bar in Heidelberg (German people love beer and wine) called Billy's Blues and walked in greeting the waitress in German, turned out she was from Vermont here in the US going to college there! I made many friends there and the food was great! I had a hard time finding a good meal there and at one point just had to find a Pizza Hut. I found out later in my trip that most universities have a cafeteria that is open to the public where you can eat a very good meal at a cheap price!
You can travel to many countries in Europe without a visa and only need a passport, no border check points just drive or take a train into Any country that is in the schenton treaty. If you google "countries in the schenton treaty" you find a list of all the countries you can travel to without having to have a visa! There are 26 countries you can freely travel in and go from country and will not need a visa. Lots of transportation options in Europe everywhere as many people get by fine without having a car.
I could talk forever about my trip because
It was so much fun and I did not have any bad experiences anywhere! I read so much about people that had bad experiences at airports and I had none,no problems finding my way around or with customs at any airport. Maybe some people just like to complain or aren't cut out for traveling. I' m ready to go back and hoping to maybe in July. My next trip I want to see the Czech Republic but also would love to go to Ireland. I hear Austria is very beautiful so I'm doing my research and going to begin planning my next trip!
