Hi all, i've booked my flights to sydney for the 10 March, and traveling alone along the east coast for 2 months till i reach Cairns, then getting a flight back. I was just wondering if anyone was goin around the same time and doing a similar route to me. Any advise or tips would also be much appreciated as this would be my first time traveling alone.
Hi Steve, I got a flight on 12 march going to Melbourne. I will be travelling up the east coast. I've got a years working visa, so will be taking my time.
Are you going to travel using the greyhound bus?
First time travelling and going solo aswell. Rather excited now

You sound like you've got a good plan, and a whole year to do it in, should be great. No i wont be using the greyhound busses, they sound a lil bit dear to me, and i here public transport is very easy and pretty cheep, so i'll just be winging it tbh.
How are you going to be getting about?
Was looking at the greyhound bus, but ideally I would like to rent a campervan if I meet others that want to do it.
Very hard to make plans, who knows what will happen that's the exciting part

Yeah thats exactly what i'm thinking, you could do all the planning in the world and when you get over there, it would still probable all change, so i just say F' it lol x
Thats kinda the way I feel with planning it Steve, obviously got to set certain things out - but apart from a Hostel to kip in for the first week or so, I don't plan on planning things too much!
I'll be in Sydney on the 15th March, also coming alone.
Made sure I found the most important thing thus far, the locations of the several Rangers Supporters Clubs! Cannae be missing the football.

And yeah having no football's gunna be my main worry lol, i'm a West Brom fan

I'm flying into Sydney the 12Feb after 8 days in Thailand. Have no plans other than to make my way up the east coast whenever/ however just going to see what happens when I get there ye know, booked Wake up Sydney hostel for 5 days when I first arrive just till I get me feet on the ground.

Well sounds like you've got the same idea as me, after my first week in Sydney i'll just be winging it, got a semi route planned out, just a couple of places i'm hoping to see, but as long as i get to Cairns for 15th May for my flight, i'm all good.

Steve, never really heard of them - but I've just been booking everything seperate, so haven't looked into it either!
Tell me about it, there are a few Rangers Supporters clubs in each of the major cities - which is just as well for me really! I went from going to every game home and away, to just the odd away game and keeping my season ticket when I was saving up!
Before that I'd missed one game in two years....and that was cause Uefa had banned us from travelling, haha.
I'll give you a message on this when I get out, see where you are by then!
