Vietnam visa costs

Any idea what the difference in price is between a 30 and 60 day visa for Vietnam?
Happy new year !
Sebastian

Not sure the price difference but I know the price of a 30 day in Vietnam is around $30-40 USD. You pay for it when you enter Vietnam.

VN visas must be arranged beforehand if you enter overland. Phnom Penh is probably the cheapest, fastest place to buy your VN visa. There is not much price difference between a 1 or 3 month single entry visa. Figure $10. Multiple entry visas are more expensive. You can buy your VN visa in PP in 1-3 days for about $35. Shop around, each place charges what they can. The 'real price' is $25. The rest is for their time/trouble going over to the VM Embassy. You can do it yourself, but it is a hassle.

There is a 'visa on arrival' system for VN if you fly into the country.
covers my experience flying into Tan Son Nhat.

You can usually buy your VN visa in your home country. Depends on what country you live in. You did not give us that information. I found out it was more expensive to buy my 30 day VN visa in the US than it was to use the visa on arrival system when you add in the postage. Good luck with your planning.

Vegas mike, thanks for your help you've commented on a few if my posts now and always been of help :-)

I'm currently in Laos and want to cross the border at " Lao bao " . Obtaining a visa won't be possible for another 10/11 days due to the Chinese new year, soooo just trying to plot a route thought Laos, I think Vientiane may fit in well....

I read that the Dark Beer Lao is the best in all Asia, have you tried it? I'll be in Vientaine and Luang Prabang the end of 2012. Go to the VN Embassy in Vientaine - the address here:

No 85 23 Singha Road, Ban Phonxay, Saysettha District Vientiane, Laos

Oops, I forget...

The approval document fee you pay for the Vietnam government (you should use visa service at travel agency or hotel receptionist), and visa stamp you pay for the staff at the airport.
