Wow!I am glad tour info I always want to get back Nepal again 3 years ago I went there but only in town.Next trip I willl go somewhere outside your trip is so interesting!

Hi mate, a couple of questions about trekking in Nepal (planning a trip up that way later this year).

Are guides needed and if so what sort of costs are you looking at.

What sort of altitude are these at? (I got some complications relating to altitude sickness in Peru and ended up in hospital for a week - I get a little nervous about going high which is a pity because I love mountains).

Hi Farva,
Nepal has multiple trekking route starting from 3210m Poon-Hill (no altitude sickness at this level) to over 5000m Everest Basecamp, Cho- La, Thorung-la, Gokyo-Ri, Larkya- La, and over 4000m Lauribina-La, Gosainkunda Lake. The trek duration varies from 5 days to 17 days in these routes. But there are other cultural trails which are equally interesting.

You don't need to go too high to get the close-up view of the Mountains.

As for guides, we recommend you have one so that you have access to local culture and geographic knowledge, and above all safety, for there are instances of trekkers following the wrong path to wilderness.

Nepal nature guide or trekking guide fees vary as per their standard , start from 27USD per day for the basic one.

I hope I have answered your question. Let me know if you need info on any specific trekking region!
