THAILAND MID MARCH - MID APRIL

BethCurly has indicated that this thread is about Thailand

Beth,
Most young visitors to Thailand arrive at Suvarnabhumi and then head for the Khao San Road area. has so many cheap places to stay, eat, drink, that you are bound to meet others your age that are doing the same thing: bumping around Thailand on a budget. Just be open and flexible with your plans and you will have others to travel with if that is your choice. Good luck.

Hiii, thanks for the reply.

I was thinking of pre-booking a flight from Bangkok to Koh Samui for the full moon party on April 6th. Would you suggest leaving it untill i get there? Or would it be a lot more expensive to book then? Thanks

hey alright

im travelling to Thailand around that time not a specific time in mind roughly end of march though also my first time and i am looking forward to it so much have you made any plans yet ?

cheers mike x

Beth,

If I was heading for any full moon party on Koh Phangan I would have my flight from Bangkok to Koh Samui prebooked (there are only so many flights daily plus you might pick up a promo fare) and I would definately have my accom. prebooked on Koh Phangan.

I am also going to Thailand (north - Chiang Mai) late March to late April. I am trying to do a weeks volunteer course in Chiang Mai, as well as the New Year party on the 14th - 16th April, would love to fly south and fit in the full moon party on the 6th. Not sure I can fit all this in though. Would be cool to catch up in Koh Phangan if I do though!

thanks for the advice all

Not much planned yet Mike just know that i want to do lots of sight-seeing & elephant riding etc!! Im thinking Bangkok for a few days then to Koh Phangan for the full moon party, then Phuket for some more sight-seeing, and then Koh Phi Phi for some more relaxing days. Finishing with a couple of days in Bangkok again then fly home. Imagine there will be time to do a couple of other places maybe but don't want to cram too much in. Would rather fully experience a few places and then go back for more I just a bit worried about travelling from place to place!

Avanii I was thinking about going to the NYE one instead but figured will decided once i get there. But yeah would definitley be good to meet up. My FB is Bethan Early for any one that wants a chat about it!

Hey Beth,

I will also be in Thailand at that time on my trip round Asia. I don't have a definite plan yet as to where I will be going and when, so am open to ideas. I am also traveling alone for the first time, so would love some company along the way!

Mel

Hi Mel,

add me on FB - Bethan Early if you fancy a chat about it really nervous about going it alone but hoping it will be amazing!

Beth,
I would substitute the area instead of Phuket. Phuket is just too crowded and expensive IMO. I think you will have a better time hitting the beaches around Krabi than joining the hoards on Phuket. You can take the ferry from Krabi to Phi Phi as well as from the Phuket side.

I agree with Steve on pre-booking your flight to Samui. Waves of people head for Phangan right before the FMP. You can take the overnight bus: BKK-Surat Thani, then ferry over to Phangan for a cheaper option. No need to book that until you are in BKK. Decide what is best for you. Good luck.
