Hi all i am an Australian and looking to go from LA TO Seattle in 14 days in a motor home.Looking for what not to miss.Have 7 days on a cruise then 38 days to go from seattle to La via Calgary then down the middlle what to see.please help may the 1st to july the 2nd .

Hey Kim!

You have plenty of time to get from LA to seattle! I did it last year with a bunch of mates and it took us less than a week so you have time to stop everywhere!

I would suggest a stop in Santa Barbara as it has beautiful beaches and is a cool town!

Definately pay a visit to Yosemite National Park - this was my absolute favourite place in the US - it is absolutely beautiful and there are many places to park a motorhome for about $10 per night! Make sure you do some of the hikes to higher ground as the view is AMAZING!

San Francisco is also a must see - a really funky city with plenty to see and do. The best thing we did there was hire bikes and ride across the Golden Gate Bridge!

Redwood National Forrest is also a beautiful place. The trees are absolutely massive and have to be seen to be believed!

Portland, Oregan is also a cool city - really funky vibe and great to look around.

Seattle was another one of my favourite places, make sure you head to Pikes Place Market to see the guys throwing the fish!

Hope that helps!

Emma

I so agree with the above comments - I now live in Portland, and lived in SF for many years too

The coastal highway, Route #1, in California is not to be missed, and be sure to stop over in Carmel and Monterey (Monterey has the best aquarium in the USA, and this area has the world's most beautiful golf courses)

If you do go to Yosemite, go early for max waterfall volume (by June the park is mobbed with tourists and campers - you'll have to wait in line)

Give San Diego some time too (really much nicer than LA) San Diego has the world's best zoo in Balboa Park

parking that RV could be a problem in many urban areas!
