Havasu Falls in The Grand Canyon

Disneyallycat has indicated that this thread is about Grand Canyon

Havasu Falls are amazing.

The 10 mile hike each way does drop in elevation, but still isn't technically difficult and can easily be accomplished without a guide. Just keep in mind the summer heat so you'll want to hike early or late in the day with plenty of water.

There isn't any trailhead camping at Havasupai Hilltop and reservations are required in the canyon. I'd start trying to contact them now, as it is an Indian reservation which operates on Indian time.

Good luck.

They look amazing!

Yes we are leaving early in the morning. To do the hike, we are just scared of getting lost! so you think its easy enough to do without guidance?

This might be a silly questions but what is Trailhead camping? :S

Thats so much for your help!!!!

You have to make a reservation and pay a fee ($57 per person) to the Indian tribe to make this hike.

Their website is at:

http://www.havasupaitribe.com/hiking.html

Reservations details are here:

http://www.havasupaitribe.com/reservations.html

The hike is only 1 1/2 miles once you arrive at the campsite (you hike 8 miles on flat ground to the campsite, then the trail gets moderately difficult).
The description of the hike is given at the first website above--and warns you of three things:

(1) Carry lots of water

(2) Wear hiking boots

(3) Watch out for the mule packs taking visitors that use the same trail

Enjoy your hike.
