Don't know yet what exactly I'm searching for. So some recommendations, opinions, stories, etc. would be quite helpful. Thank you!
Never been around Europe yet, though I'm living in Germany. But I heard the northern coastline of England and Ireland is supposed to be wonderful? Cologne and Berlin in Germany are two wonderful cities as well!
Personally I've been traveling around Europe quite a lot and one of my favorite cities is Barcelona. The reason is that it offers a good mix of culture and fun. Plus I'm a huge fan of Gaudi's work. The citz is really amazing. I was there again last week and when you think you've seen everything that was worth seeing...bang, you find another stunning attraction.
Barcelona is a quite busy city though. If you prefer a more laid back style of traveling, you could consider going to Ireland with it's amazing landscapes.
I can say ive been to many city's in Europe and Berlin was the most fun. Great people and loads of culture.
Croatia, not as expensive as everyone says, Zagreb is a bit hit a miss, like any other city really, Plitvice national park-beautiful scenery, amazing walking trails for most fitness levels, Split is culture, architecture and great seafood, Dubrovnik has the beach, the old town and of courseagain great food.
Hi,
We travelled around Spain entirely by public transport and found it perfectly straightforward and not too expensive. The trains were absolutely fine - clean and airconditioned and the buses much the same.
There's some good links already provided above. -snip-
Thanks
Thanks guys!
Go for France, Germany and Greece. A lot of people says its beautiful out there.
If you love the sea, you should visit the Mediterrean coast, driving Spain, Italy and Croatia (even Greece has amazing sea landscapes and wanderful islands, but you know the politic situation is not so pretty at the moment).
According me, best cities are Barcelona, Paris, London, Florence and Dublin.
Have a good trip!
Definately agree with giammarco that Greece is worth visiting, the sea is gorgeous, the food is amazing, the people are so friendly and there's so much to see! I recommend Parga for the beaches and things to see, and Corfu and Paxos for the scenery and to relax, but so many of the islands are beautiful. I have just come back from Greece and the current political state of the country is not visible, the locals are more worried that future tourists and travellers are seeing the news and being put off by the exaggerated media. Italy is amazing too, too many places there to name that are well worth the visit! Hope that helps!
Enjoy your travels! Sian
