I've got my WHV approved, hoping to be going out to Australia for Sept/Oct latest, possibly before hopefully
Need to book into a Hostel for say a few days to start with, then decide what I'm going to do
I will be looking for work once I get out there, any work would be fine! (Currently work in food retail)
Gonna get my Aus. bank account sorted when I get there, not too sure about mobile phone, anyone know if I should do that while in UK or one arrived. At the moment I am thinking start in Cairns and work down, anyone have similar plans, or can offer me useful info?

I am travellin over to oz in sept going to do the oz intro to try and meet some people, im going to fly in to sydney with a few nights in a hostel pre arranged and buy a cheap car or van and travell as much of the east coast and the outback as i can it will be grea tif someone else would like to do it also and plus they say there is saftey in numbers lol
im going on a holiday working visa so will need to work along the way to fund the rest of the travelling van, accomidations excetera

To be honest bex, I don't have any plans as such just yet
I will need to work for the 3 months in order to get the 2nd year visa, but apart from that I'm hoping to explore and meet people. Probably work down the east coast yeah, that is what I was thinking

I'm doing pretty much the same as you. Im flying out to cairns at the end of september and got a 12 month WHV, with the intention to do 3 months farm work to get the extra 12 months on top.
I've sorted my bank account, job site, sim card and etc with Sta. Its actually a lot cheaper to do in my opinion and gives you the ease of mind before you get there.

My mate is out in Perth on a 12 month WHV!
He's advised me to sort the bank account when I get there, he said you just walk in the bank fill out a form, takes 10-15 minutes!
I was thinking of going to a local STA to see what else they advise!
Any idea of where you are gonna stay yet, you gonna go for a hostel close to the airport?
That's probably the easiest and cheapest thing to do.

I was ment to be starting my WHV off in Melbourne for my friends wedding but it doesn't look like its going to be on the dates they initially booked, so im thinking of doing my 3 months work first now. Any idea's how your going to do it all? Regarding where your going to stay etc?

I need to book a flight, and hostel to stay in, one which is preferably close to the Airport
I want to start at the top, Cairns and work my way down. I took a look at ultimateoz, looks ok, but prob. be cheaper to do them things by yourself. What do you think?
With regards to work, I will probably do anything that is going, currently work in food retail. I'm told jobs are reasonably easy to come by, like a job centre or recruitment agency in the Uk, take your CV and go through the normal process!
When are you thinkin going of?
If you have any info. that may help me prepare, please share
