Vietnam in May/June

Hi, I'm currently in Thailand, and thinking about travelling to Vietnam in late May/early June. I'm planning to fly to Hanoi with a daytrip to Halong Bay, then go south either by train or bus to Hue, Hoi An, and eventually flying out of Ho Chi Minh. However, I've heard that it's monsun season in the south now, and that June's one of the hottest months of the year in the south with frequent heavy downpours. The information I've found is very contradictory, some websites saying it's very hot and humid in June, while others say any time of the year is a good time to travel in Vietnam.

Hi Relise,

First of all, welcome to Vietnam <3
Stop worries about the rainy season in south of Vietnam . The downpours just easy come, easy go (about haft hour), then the sun is back. The temperature is quite similar in the whole year. You should worry about the north because of its summer season, Very hot, the outside tem can reach more than 40 degree, specially in Hanoi. A day trip to Ha Long Bay I am afraid that it's not enough to discover the Bay (I suggest 2days/1 night is good enough). Hue and Hoi An is totally amazing, good choice for you when take time for you.
If you need any question, let go ahead and ask

Cheers
