Howdy! I'm planning gapyear beginning Oct / Nov this year, starting in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, then Aus & NZ. First stop, Bangkok. Oh just noticed how long ago you posted this! Have you booked your flights by now then? I'm looking at getting to Bangkok around the 10th October, leaving Singapore to Melbourne around 10th December and spending NYE in Sydney.. have you made loads of plans now, booked hostels, got an idea of your route etc? x
I'm headed to Thailand in October as well. I'll be in Bangkok most of the time, but am hoping to take a train south to Phi Phi Island, maybe even to Penang. I used to live in Thailand and speak fluent Thai. Maybe some of us could meet up.

I haven't booked anything yet but I've seen the flights I'm thinking of getting just on STA travel to be honest, I'm under 26 so they offer discount. Where would you be flying from and when? I'm also looking to stay in Oz for a least a year working! x
Yeh i think I'll go STA as well. I'm going from London on the 14th Oct and straight to Dubai for a few days and then onto Thailand around the 17th. The rest I'll just book as I go. But defiantly need to be in Sydney for new years.

I'm thinking bascially the same! Booking base hostel in sydney I think as I've been chatting to some other people going there.. Have you booked your flights now? I was thinking of booking them next Tuesday when I'm back from ibiza! There;s a lot of people I know going on the 14th of october now so tempted to delay it till then myself so I'm getting there the same time as other people! Are you traveling alone? Have you booked a hostel in Bangkok for the first few nights?
