Spain

My husband and I will be spending 2 weeks in Spain before heading to Switzerland for another week. We are planning to fly into Madrid or Seville, then up to San Sebastian, then over to Barcelona. From there we are hoping to head to Lucerne in Switzerland but then I'm not sure where else to go as yet. Planning on June next year. What is the best/quickest way to get to Switzerland from Spain. Thanks in advance.

Your best bet is going to be to fly, I think. Easyjet fly direct from Barcelona to Geneva, and it's dirt cheap if you book well in advance.

You could do it with one change on the train which would be more scenic and relaxing but would take considerably longer (would wipe out 2 days of your 6 weeks rather than half a day on the plane) and be considerably more expensive.

Thanks for that. We only have 3 weeks altogether so a 2 day train trip probably isn't worth the time or expense. Cheers.

The one thing you actually need to look out for are the charges of EasyJet, Ryanair or any of the other airlines, which they are using for adding extra Luggage. (standard will only be a 10 kg cabin luggage, within specific dimensions), if you end up at the desk needing to check in extra luggage, or your cabin luggage is overweight or overseized, they will charge you quite some money. So read the small print, before booking.

But I agree, if you have no stops planned between Barcelona and Switzerland, the train trip is too long.
