Hey all! I am 24, travelling to South East Asia in December starting in Thailand for around a month, doing full moon for NYE etc, then onto Cambodia, Viet Nam, Laos, Indonesia.
I am travelling solo as this is what I have wanted to do for ages! but now my leaving date is getting closer i'm finding the idea of travelling alone a bit daunting and would love to meet some fellow travellers who are planning on doing a similar trip to me.
I was hoping to go to Bali around my birthday (mid feb) but it is rain season so if anyone knows how bearable/ unbearable this is please let me know ( I am looking to chill on the beach and go to the gilis ).

I read your post and laughed as I have found myself in a similar situation.
I am travelling overland from England to Australia. I have a tour in India in November, which is a little security as I know I will be with other people then. But from then on I will be travelling in SEA for December and Jan and will be going solo and just hope I meet people to travel with!
Maybe we should keep in touch!

Yeh totally in the same boat, i'm so nervous I will end up travelling alone which I know sounds so stupid as making friends is probably the first thing travellers do. It's just nice to know people in the same position as me.
So when do you get to SEA and are you doing FM for NYE? I decided to book a tour in cambodia, again for the security side, but after that I will be solo.
I am also flying to Aus in march from Bangkok.

Ahhhh so good to hear people doing exactly the same as you. I leave on the 28th December starting in Hanoi. Plan is to dive and seek as many beaches and general epicness as poss! It seems so funny when you think about the massive journey ahead. Very daunting but exciting

I'll be in Thailand for the whole of December, no concrete plans im just gonna arrive in Bangkok and see what happens!! Defo heading down to the island for xmas and new year. Then want to head to Cambodia and Vietnam before going down to Malaysia and over to Bali.
Im starting to get a bit nervous too, only 9 weeks til I leave!

You're doing the same route as me, however I'm only in SEA for 6weeks starting from beginning of Nov. I start of in Cambodia, and plan to work up through Vietnam to Laos.
If anyone else would be there during this time and would like to join me at the beginning of my trip at Angkor Wat, Cambodia then please get in touch!
