Hey Tom, is more expensive to fly into Sydney but thought it would be nicer to arrive somewhere i'm a bit familiar with as i have been to Sydney before. Will travel up the east coast and stay in Brisbane for a bit deffo, you got a working visa? x
Yeah I guess so , Is Sydney that good really heard mixed reviews on it , I wanna see the harbour but that's about it aha , Brisbane and Gold Coast seem a lot more fun , not yet but that's what I'll be getting yeah
I wasn't in Sydney long enough to see it all, was passing through but from what i saw it was pretty cool place, id deffo suggest you go there even for a week or two. Do you think you're gonna start looking for work first or travel a bit?

Am going to Australia and beyond next year from January. Got no set plans but would like to work and travel to see as much of the area as possible. Would also like to visit Fiji for a couple of weeks and work in New Zealand too, afterwards. I'm a fairly experienced traveler so not THAT worried about the whole thing but it would be cool to know some people before arriving there.
What sort of work are you guys looking at doing?

I could do with some of your confidence! I'm so nervous! Hoping to get some bar work or office work - I'm easy really. I've got nothing set in stone. I've got a some kind of intro to aus booked for a week when i land to help me out with a bank account, job search & accomadation and that but other than that I have no idea what I want to do! Would also love to visit Fiji and NZ again (went last year for 5 days but definitely need more time there)
What date you landing in Melbourne and where you flying from?

Haha I was the same when I did my first big trip solo - it's scary but once you get yourself settled you laugh about how worried you were before. I don't think I'll join up to one of these companies that help you start up. There's so many free websites around showing what available work there is - how much is the programme you're doing?
I'm actually quite looking forward to New Zealand - it's so naturally beautiful, the prices haven't sky rocketed like in Aus and the people seem so friendly. I haven't got any set dates for when I'm leaving, I'd just like to do it in January (after I finish my Europe travels). Will be flying from one of the London airports as they're the closest major set-off points for me. Can't wait!
