Hey, so me and my boyfriend are planning to go travelling in january 2015. Having never been further than holland as you can imagine this is rather excited and daunting for me, so as much information and help as possible would be amazing. We are thinking of going to Mexico, then over to India, then down to Nepal, Burma, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia then a brief visit to Australia to see a friend who moved over there and then to end our travels with a good few months in Bali.
Any info on how to get around, places to see, advice, do's and don'ts, budgeting etc would be so appreciated.
Thanks x

That's a really general question covering a massive amount of real estate... you might want to do some research then come back with more specific questions...

One suggestion though, since you've never travelled before, when you leave Mexico you might want to start with easy destinations - Australia then Thailand - before working your way to India...

Have fun.

Cheers,
Terry

Sorry I'm new to writing in forums and all of this too, never really needed to before.
Also we literally made the decision yesterday so I know I have a lot more research to do, I have contacted a few of my friends who have been and am about to go up down for some information from the flight centre and that but just wanted to get some idea from some people on here.
What makes you say that about India, also we might just skip Mexico this time We were thinking maybe do that next time round and travel some of north and south America.

Thanks

P.s is there anyway I could change it to general questions?

I've been to Mexico quite a few times, but like Terry said, its a very general question. If you want to message me with more specific questions, I'd be glad to help you with what I can!

Pröst!

narrow down your queries and get the answers you are looking for.

As a starting point I would say your Australia budget should start at $80 a day, although this includes accommodation and I'm not sure how long you intend on being in Australia.

I also suggest checking out the guide for each country for basic info such as places to see. For example check .

Good luck with your planning!

come to Vietnam and follow the beer trail.. in all big tourist cities there are microbreweries with great beer..

Start with Saigon for 2-3 days then 1 day in Nha Trang and 2 days in Hoi An, spend 3 days in Hanoi. Hanoi has 25 microbreweries so plenty to do. Nha trang, mui ne etc are overrated. Pu Quoc is really nice if you arrive in the south. There is also a microbrewery at Phu Quoc island.
