Hi everyone,
Hi,
has a bit to say about it.
The problems would not put me off Bangkok or most other spots except perhaps the areas not coloured green on their map.
Your own country probably has a similar site.

Fons,
The situation in Tland changes every week. By June you should have a better idea if BKK is to be avoided. I will bet most of BKK will be OK for visitors. Usually just a small area where the protestors are active is dicey. Train to Aranyaprathet, into Cam. at Poipet, visa on arrival, bus to Siem Reap. Best option is then bus to Phnom Penh, perhaps some beach time in Sihanoukville, overland into VN. Buy your VN visa in either PP or S'ville. Faster, cheaper in S'ville. Same day service. talks about my bus trip between HCMC-PP. Once in HCMC, you can use the VN , the or a combo. Fly back to BKK.
Good luck with your planning.
I was in Bangkok in 2013, and if I didn't look at the TV in some vegetarian place in Khaosan road, I would have never have known that there were rallies and riots happening. I thought it was the usual rallies that happen in every third world Democracies. I'm sure its deeper than that... Point is, I don't it would be so dangerous. YOu won't be needing their airports anyway. besides, Thailand has many international airports, if you really want the Thai experience.
