Hey guys, I'm moving to Melbourne in the next couple of weeks. I have a hostel booked for the first week but have no idea where about a I should move to. Any idea where the best job opportunities are etc?

Try Seek.com.au or SpotJobs to get an idea of what is around, likely pay rates, etc, then find a share house in Melbourne's north because it's cheaper. Try Flatmates.com.au or the shared section on RealEstate.com.au.
I second seek, had a few interviews using them already. If your doing bar work get the RSA course booked up because you'll need that before you can apply. I done mine in franklin street for $39.
Job opportunities I have heard are easier to come by in the suburbs. I have mainly been applying for CBD (city centre) jobs but now that I have my own apartment I am looking at the surrounding area.
Melbourne is difficult but not impossible a few of my friends have jobs already
