Long term 4x4

Hello. My name is Allen and I live in Yakima, WA USA. I take long 4x4 trips in the Western US. Not in Mexico any more.
I usually go to Nevada or Utah and spend about 6 months camping out of my '91 Jeep Cherokee. I have gone for as long as 325 days at a stretch.
I don't stay in campgrounds, and know nothing about them. I don't ever stay in hotels. I don't use tents. I very, very seldom eat at restaurants/fast food places. I cook my own food, which is good. I sleep in my own bed and bathe when I can, or very occasionally I'll buy a shower at a laundry mat. I get my equipment from the military surplus store or used from the thrift shops with a very few exceptions. I have nothing to do with bicycles. I have a junky, but mechanically sound little boat that occasionally I'll take to Lake Powell for the winter and fish.
I do read classic literature in both English and Spanish. I do take firearms and target shoot frequently. I don't hunt. I'll fish if I can do it without getting caught. I take plenty of water. I water up where ever I can. I take beer if I can, whiskey is also good, a little smoke maybe. I don't care for wine unless it's actually good and that I can't afford. I don't refrigerate, I take rice, beans, flour, popcorn, oats, lard, yeast, baking soda and powder. I take lots of salt. I take eggs, potatoes, onions and etc.. I enjoy hot (piquant) food. To keep the beans from spoiling I boil them for a few minutes every day. I take little if any meat as it spoils too fast although I do have a pressure cooker and can make a good pot roast with it. Mostly I cook pinto beans in it. I'm not afraid of stinky meat. I'll eat it if I have to, but certainly prefer not to. I try to keep plenty of bacon on hand. I carry some canned goods, not many. I don't take pasta as it requires too much water. I don't take any type of prepared food at all. I usually have enough of everything to stay out three weeks at a stretch, more if I can find water. I cook with wood or with unleaded gasoline over an old fashioned plumber's furnace and an old blow torch. I avoid people like the plague and rarely see them. I carry cash. No plastic.
I am a professional mechanic and do my own automotive work. I am also an amateur radio operator, Extra Class, (AD7JR) and I have 2 meters, 10 meters, 11 meters, a Yupiteru scanner, an old Magellan 310 GPS and plenty of paper maps. I take a cell phone as well, but it's usually worthless except around town when I go for fuel/food. I call my wife with it. I do have a wife. We've been married 20 years. She does not accompany me. I do carry excellent binoculars. I am an excellent 4x4 driver. My politics are conservative and my manner...distant.
I've been doing this since 1974. I'm 59 years old.
Is there anyone else that does this?? I've never met anyone that does. If anyone does let me know. And, if anyone needs advice about this kind of camping I might be able to help. I've done a lot of it. It's not cheap. It's not always pleasant, but I like it.
