Do you have any in demand skills? Generally employers would prefer people to stick around for a bit longer than two weeks. There's of course casual jobs every so often, but they might not be very easy to find. Even hostel cleaning jobs in exchange for free accommodation tend to ask for sticking around for a couple of weeks...
For your TFN, you can apply for it , but only once you've arrived in Australia. (See for some more background information.)
You could look for fruit picking. It's causal work with no real time commitment.
Also try SpotJobs.com, or even HelpX if you're interested in work for free accommodation.

Might extend my planned stays in a few of the cities then, just to be available for work for longer..
I'll have a look into the fruit picking, and work for free accommodation sounds pretty good aswell!
