My husband and I are planning our first trip to Africa (Kenya and Tanzania, specifically) to coincide with our 30th wedding anniversary. This itinerary was proposed by my daughter the travel agent (who has been to Africa) and Ranger Safaris, a local Tanzanian operator. We need accommodations that have electricity at night for my husband's CPAP machine. I am an amateur photographer so the emphasis is on photography for this trip. First question, is November 2017 an okay time to go? We are specifically looking at the second half of the month (due to my work restrictions). We are looking at a 13 Day trip, by the way.
Thank you for any and all advice.
Hello to you .. I cannot really comment on wether November would be good or not but I was in Tanzania in April .. the wet season, supposedly not a good time .. I had a fabulous time. It was also a bit cheaper & not so many people in hotels or in the parks - a bonus for sure.
My 10 day trip is detailed on my
It covered much the same ground as you are contemplating but only in Tanzania & only 10 days. I could have done with 20 days because there is such a long way between Arusha & Serengeti & soooooo many lovely animals to see.
I imagine Kenya would be just as good
I suggest you either double your time there or limit the number kilometres you will travel between stops. Perhaps just Tanzania or just Kenya.
Whatever you choose, you will enjoy it I am sure. My trip was the best of my life - well, second best.
Steve
Ps. All my lodges had flush toilets .. heaven.
