Just a quick question: I am thinking about going to Sevilla at the end of the month, and I was wondering what to do?? I would like to be creative, meaning I'd like to learn Spanish, flamenco dancing or maybe painting?? Can anyone recommend any good courses? One week max. I look forwards hearing your suggestions. Thank you.

A number of famous operas are set in Sevilla (Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Mozart's Il Nozze di Figaro, Bizet's Carmen). There are also a number of fantastic art songs by Spanish families, including Manuel Garcia and his daughters, Maria Malibran and Pauline Viardot. If you wanted to explore the music associated with the area, you could find recordings, maybe take a few voice lessons, or learn to play traditional Spanish guitar while you are there.
I like the painting idea, though, too!
Another one is to focus on photography. Andalucia is one of the most beautiful places I've been. I know a few photographers who print out their photos on watercolor paper (find it in the paint supplies sections), and then the photo looks like it was painted as a watercolor.
Manzanilla and sherry/jerez are really big in southern Spain. Become a connoisseur! Tour a few wineries, learn how it is made, what makes a good manzanilla. Even if you don't, do try it! Just make sure that you ask for the right manzanilla, because manzanilla in some areas also means chamomile, and then you'll get a nice bedtime tea.
Learn a bit of Spanish before you go, but carry a small translation dictionary with you. Don't use it unless you absolutely have to look up a word. Most waiters at restaurants are fantastic with helping you through your mangled Spanish, especially on a quiet night. You might find yourself with all four or five of them waiting on you or talking with you.
If you're not dead set on Sevilla, maybe consider one of the smaller cities like Ronda or Arcos. The slower pace might be good if you want to learn something new.

My boyfriend and I just got back from Seville about a week ago and had an amazing time. I spent the days learning Spanish, whilst he lazed about by the pool (mostly because he thought of himself to be a pro at the language - but I guess he got by as most people understood his spanglish anyway)
We both spent the afternoons learning Flamenco. It was so much fun, I would def recommend it!! (Even with my two left feet, I was still able to learn quite a bit - and it almost started coming naturally by the end of it)
I think he said that there were quite a few other courses in Seville and Andalucia which he saw when he was booking them - I will get back to you with the company etc if you're interested.
