- Best place to learn Spanish in South America (take it from me, I'm a linguist with an interest in these things) is the Universidad de Buenos Aires. More information and links in the article in the Travel Guide. Reliable price quotes are on the institute's website, but I seem to recall they aren't that expensive. They dó ask some major commitment, though. It's a serious education, not a fun programme.
- Argentine beaches are not all that terrific. In fact they suck pretty hard. However, when you're based in Buenos Aires, Punta del Este (Uruguay) is more or less around the corner. If for whatever reason you can't afford to go there, at least avoid Mar del Plata; head for Villa Gesell or Pinamar instead.
- 150 bucks a month? Depends on what you mean by 'a place'. Unless the housing market collapsed again in the past 8 months due to the economy, this budget won't get you very far at all. Accommodation in Buenos Aires may not be as expensive as in the US, but it's far from cheap.

it is a listing for people renting and letting their flats in argentina, the prices range and
it looks like a good way of getting a good deal

For your accommodation, it's possible to find good places at a reasonable price. But you will

Fascinating...Argentinian Spanish is awful. I find it hard to listen to. If I were you , and wanted to learn decent Spanish, I'd go to Colombia, or Bolivia. I don't know what linguist Bentivogli is smoking....he has to be aware of the heavy Portuguese influence of the dialect in BsAs and he has to know that that region deals a heavily in modismos
BsAs is a lovely place, don't get me wrong...But their Spanish is atrocious....and Chile is not better...Even a Chilean would tell you that.

What?Im Argentinian and our accent is the best and the way we speak spanish is so nice.. if you have any doubt ask to any spanish speaker( no argentinian)...and you will see!

Oh I have spoken to other Spanish speakers. Of course you think your accent is good. And I have no doubt that your Spanish is perfect for where you are, and I mean no disrespect to your country or people...but, man. There are, I think, 17 land locked Latin American countries. I've been to 13 of them...and the accent there is, and only slightly edging Chile, the worst.

If you are coming to south america id recomend you Colombia instead of argentina since weather will be greater there, beaches will be warm and you have both oceans (pacific and atlantic).
As for the accent, I, As a Venezuelan Like both Colombiand and argentinan accents. The ones I dont like are mexican, perubian or chile. but thats up to you --
I'd definitely tell you to come to Venezuela to learn Spanish since it's a beautiful place but right now it's too dangerous.
