Hi, I'm hoping to do about 6 - 8 weeks travelling through Central America from Panama to Belize. I'm not bothered about Mexico as I've been there before. I don't mind going back for a couple of days but don't want it as a big part of the trip. Can anyone out there recommend a good travel company to go with?? I've looked at Gap Adventures and they have one trip that looks good. Imaginative Traveller don't really have anything and they're a lot dearer than Gap and I don't want to travel with Intrepid or Tucan.
why not just follow the suggested route by GAP and do it yourself?
it will cost less than half the price and you'll have a great adventure regardless.
Gap gets good feedback so I don't know why you are concerned.
I'm assuming you want to do this on a serious budget?
My BF and I will be headed to the DR soon and what we did was seach for deals (I'll link the best one we found), and then used that as a price guide.
We have 2 kids and a dog so we REALLY need as much info as possible and only the big guides helped narrow us down to a few places. The BIG trick was convincing the resorts that we were just deal hunters and not some policing agency trying to bust resorts giving side deals.

Thanks for your feedback. I'm not concerned about Gap as I've travelled with them twice before but because they only have one option which doesn't hugely feature Mexico, I'd like to look at other options as well. I'd much prefer to travel independently to be honest but I will be travelling alone and I'm not sure if Central America is safe for a girl on her own?? If I thought it was though, I'd do it.
