What are the must do's of the Philippines?

Hello!

Can you make suggestions for tour companies??

visit Puerto Galera, Boracay or Palawan.

Banaue Rice Terrace, Mayon Volcano, Boracay, Palawan Underground river, El nido, Tuttabata Reef, Chocolate hills to name a few... But they all are almost in different different islands....

I can make many suggestions but will need a few more ideas about where you want ot go etc. before I can answer....

I'm up for anything. I want to know about the less obvious things, not the major tourist attractions. The things that I would regret not doing/seeing. Anything helps!

well.. visit Puerto Princesa for its Underground River, visit El Nido for its beautiful karst mountains and crystal clear waters...

visit the Banaue Rice Terraces which is off the regular beaten track where you'd see the centuries old rice terraces...

visit Caramoan, a new beach location which has been featured many times in Survivor France..

you can try to visit the Batanes island which is among the most remote areas in the country where there are only 2 flights in a week but its landscape will make you feel that you were somewhere in New Zealand or Ireland..

for the regular destinations...

visit Bohol for its tarsiers and Chocolate Mountains..

visit Davao for a taste of Muslim Philippines..

visit Manila, Cebu, and Vigan for its historical sites

for food, you must try adobo which is a common home dish, try balut which is a famous exotic egg dish.. try the halo halo which is refreshment of sorts... try mangoes..

take a calesa tour in Intramuros.. calesa is a traditional horse carriage..

ride the jeepney which is the most common Philippine transport..

If you'd be here by this Friday April2, I'd say you should go to Pampanga for the annual celebration of the Passion of Christ there where revelers are nailed on the cross... This week is already holy week and the passion of Christ is celebrated in most towns due to the Catholic faith...

Thanks for the tips!!!
How long do you think I need to see most of the country?

oh... hmmm... give about a month maybe...or more..

spend about 3 days in Manila, 3-4Days in Banaue Rice Terraces and Sagada caves, spend about a week to go around Puerto Princesa and El Nido in Palawan island, take about a few days in Caramoan and about 2-3 more days to see the provinces near there including the Mayon Volcano, spend about a day in Cebu and 2-3 days in Bohol, about 2-3 days in Davao, about 2-3 days in Boracay, spend about 4 days in Batanes,

you can also spend time in Subic for 2days and in Tagaytay for about a day also.. both are about 2-3hours drive from Manila...
