Taking into consideration airport transfer though flight is cheaper the price might come to the same as a bus or train ride from Oslo to Stockholm, am I right?
There's a good indirect service with Wizzair - from what I can see (although if anyone finds better, I'd appreciate knowing).
Try.. Oslo - Gdansk - Stockholm. Really really cheap. There would be a stop-over on most days though, as the flights dont connect. A night in Gdansk is great and accomodation is so very inexpensive. The people are lovely as well.
If you take the express trains from Oslo airport and Stockholm airport, into their respective cities, you're looking at a cost of 170 NOK + 220 SEK (one-way), so yes, this adds up very quickly. A bus would be a bit cheaper, though I'm pretty sure the Norwegian one is still around 140 NOK. So roughly 440-450 SEK off the top of my head.
I just checked the train, you can only check this on the Swedish national rail site (even if departing from Oslo), for a random day in June and it kicked back these prices:
359 SEK by bus
554 SEK by train
For the random time I checked, the bus route was the faster of the two (6h.40m) and there generally don't seem to be many trains that do the stretch on a day. The trip is faster by plane (probably 3 hour total if you include getting to the airport an hour in advance, and travel times to/from airports by train), but probably not cheaper.
Of course if you are already starting off at the airport, this equation changes too

I shall check out Gdansk - not sure where it is.
But I think, I'll probably stick to Oslo. Kind of a waste to spend 4 days only in Oslo. The fjords trip are so expensive and I have yet find any good deal.
Gdansk, quite a big city.... Population around 1.5 million - is flourished in recent history ('Recent history' - is that gramatically correct??). It's on the coast. The revolution to rip down 'The Curtain' started there.
