New Itinerary - suggestions welcome :)

Hello,

Hello kmgburgers

You trip sounds great, specially with those 2 months snowboarding. I have been quite a lot to South America and you itinerary looks great. Anyway, if you are going to be in brazil you should definitely visit Salvador de Bahia. It is one of the greatest places in South America and it has a touch of African culture that is just amazing. I strongly recomend you go for at least a couple of days, besides the beaches are wonderful and the people are just lovely.

What time of the year is it that you are going to be there???

Sarah

Hi Sarah, thank you very much for your reply

We arrive in Brazil in June so winter time and then we are hoping to stay in South America until the end of September! Thanks for the tip about Salvador de Bahia. I shall research a bit in to this and see if I can fit it in nicely!!

Any more tips or advice are very welcome

Thanks again!

I agree with your comments regarding Iguacu Falls and seeing it from both sides, as each offers a very different perspective. (I actually preferred the Brazilian side). Puerto Iguacu is a nicer place to base yourself than Foz on the other side, and from Puerto it's easy to arrange day trips to the Brazilian side. My tour also included a trip into Paraguay which was interesting.

Hi Bex,

Thanks for this info. I had heard from a few people that Puerto was nicer to stay in and you can still easily visit both sides so this sounds like a good plan to me!

Hi kmgburgers!

When I went to Salvador it was winter too (about two years ago) and the city was just perfect!! The weather is still warm enough to go the beach, walk around the city in lovely sunshine, take the caipirinhas in the beach.. but it's cool enough so you're not melting in the heat!
The city is still busy but you can actually get a spot on the beach and walk through the streets without too many Tourists.
If you get to go, check out a place to stay at Porto da Barra. Rio Velmelho, Pelhorinho, Candomble meetings (their religion is the Candomble and u are allowed to go to some meetings) and Morro di Sao Paulo are musts.

Good luck with you trip!

Sarah
