Hi currently in Thailand and heading down south soon. Just wondering does anyone know any cheap airlines to get me from Phuket or Krabi to Maylasia?? Or do you know if it is safe to use the trains (as it is advised not to travel through south thailand)??
Try for flights. You can also get a bus/boat combo to Langkawi which we have done with no problems or bus/train to KL. A lot of travellers have done these routes with no problems, but maybe other people on here have recent info about the situation in Southern Thailand.
From Krabi you can jump on a train to Hat Yai, then another train down to the border of Malaysia where it is a simply walk across.
I agree with Donna. Just fly : KBV-KUL. Cheap and avoids the problems of changing buses or trains in southern Thailand. The flight is about the same price as land transport.
