Hi there, if u only got 12 hours, i suggest u take the airport bus to the hong kong island central district,
then take the peak tram to the " peak " , take a look at the hong kong harbour, then, back to the
kowloon side at " mong kok " district, explore the heart of kowloon side, then back to airport, take your plane,,
I agree with ^. However, I wouldn't bother going to the peak if it's too smoggy or the weathers not nice as it's quite expensive and there wouldn't be a view. You should definately go to mong kok for some authentic food you can buy and eat on the streets.
Fastest mode of transport would definatly be the trains, especially the airport express.
