Australia advice required please

Hi, I'm thinking of heading to Australia and take part in a wwoof or helpx program. I am 36 so I cannot get a Working Holiday Visa. I am intending to travel there around start of November, I have made no arragements yet at all. Would a month be enough to get all sorted?
I dont know which part of Australia to start in.
What are these programs like, can anyone give me any advice where to start.
Much appreciated

Hello again!!
Was looking some advice with the WWOOF or HELPX programs. Has anyone used these programs to travel Australia?
Where would be the best place to go to in Australia in November, some where not too hot. Whats Tasmania like?
Where is the best place to book flights from uk?
Thanks

ther're not programs per se, just organizations that you can sign up free online and then look through the listings and contact people to see if they need any help. Ive used HelpX a few times and its a great way to meet locals and their friends and really feel like you are living there rather than just a tourist experience. It's nice sometimes to be living in a home too rather than a guest house.

Ive heard Tasmania is a great place, but wonder if Nov might still be a bit early in the season.

Hi Dodger and thanks for your reply.
Is it hard to find paid work in Australia, fruit picking or farm work. Where is the best place to look for these jobs and what parts of Australia would be best.
Cheers
